Intersectional Neurodiversity 101

In this comprehensive 2-hour session, participants will delve into the rich landscape of the neurodiversity and disability justice movements. The interactive workshop will foster a deeper understanding of the neurodiversity paradigm and the holistic model of disability. Participants will explore how intersectional factors of race, age, and gender shape and influence the experience of neurodivergent experiences like depression, anxiety, autism, ADHD, and the bipolar spectrum. Each participant will receive a range of materials including articles, case studies, and a guided workbook to facilitate an immersive learning experience.

 

Anti-Neuroableism 101

This engaging 2-hour workshop aims to demystify the concept, manifestation, and ramifications of neuroableism. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of how neuroableism pervades our behavior and language, as well as its systemic presence. The session will empower attendees to identify neuroableist tendencies and replace them with informed, respectful conversations that honor neurodiverse experiences. Interactive elements of the workshop, supplemented by comprehensive reading materials, will enhance learning and promote the development of nuanced and confident communication skills around neurodiversity and disability. Participants will create personalized action plans for practicing anti-neuroableism in language, behavior, and care.

 

Supporting Neurodivergent Youth of Color*

This specialized 3-hour workshop is dedicated to building supportive skills and resources for engaging with neurodivergent youth of color. The session spotlights the intersection of race, culture, and neurodivergence, promoting cultural and neurodiversity competency among participants. Equipped with practical skills, attendees will be better prepared to support neurodivergent youth of color by fostering their self-advocacy and social skills and providing a safe, trusting mentorship.

 

Building a Neuroinclusive Work Culture*

During this 3-hour workshop, participants will interrogate present company values and norms around communication, organizational culture, and psychological and emotional safety in the workplace. Time will be spent discussing and practicing strategies and mindset shifts that develop individual capacities for creating a work environment reflective of a neurodiverse workforce. Space for processing emotions will be available throughout the session through check-ins and an invitation to participate in grounding exercises.

 

*In order to register for "Supporting Neurodivergent Youth of Color" or "Building a Neuroinclusive Work Culture": participants must have completed "Intersectional Neurodiversity 101" AND "Anti-Neuroableism 101" workshops to enroll or register. This ensures participants have the foundational tools, knowledge, and self-awareness to effectively engage with the material in these workshops.
